Your dilemma sounds heart wrenching. I would agree with all that my esteemed colleague Terri has said so very well. She's posed the most relevant questions which can be answered only by you. You have some difficult choices to make and either choice may represent a sense of loss for you. I suppose if I were in your situation, I'd marry the man and hope that my family would come around in their own good time, and there's no guarantee that they will, and it's not my situation and no one but you can truly know what will honor you.

I do know that to live my life satisfying others would mean abandoning myself and living out of my true nature. This would create an unbearable imbalance within my spirit. I lived my life trying to be, do and say what others expected and the result was separation from self and from them. It's my experience that it's not my job to live my life in a way that honors others before myself. I would lose myself and that for me would be the greatest loss of all. This is your unique journey. People are confused when they believe they have the right to control another's journey. Your journey is between you and your God.

Though I can't tell you what to do (and who could?), I can walk beside you in support of whatever you choose. Best of luck and I hope for courage to be your constant companion because we all need courage to live life on our own terms.
